Answer Vault

Community-powered answer repository with real-time voting and intelligent consensus

Overview

The Answer Vault lets the community vote on answer quality so you can compare collective judgement with AI predictions. See how each option is rated and add your vote.

Community + AI Intelligence

Quanta combines AI predictions with community votes using a balanced scoring algorithm to surface the most reliable answers.

How It Works

Per-Option Voting

For each answer choice in a quiz question, you can:

  • Vote Correct (👍🏻): Mark this option as the right answer
  • Vote Wrong (👎🏻): Mark this option as incorrect

Real-Time Synchronization

The Answer Vault uses real-time database subscriptions to keep vote counts synchronized across users and browser tabs.

  • Instant Updates: See vote changes as they happen
  • Multi-Tab Support: Votes sync across all your open tabs
  • Cross-User Sync: Benefit from votes cast by other Quanta users
  • Automatic Retry: Failed votes are automatically retried for reliability

Network Required

Real-time sync requires an active internet connection. Offline votes will be queued for submission when you reconnect.

Community Consensus Algorithm

Quanta uses intelligent balanced scoring to determine the best answer:

Score = (Correct Votes - Wrong Votes) / Total Votes

The algorithm:

  1. Favors answers with higher net positive votes
  2. Accounts for vote distribution to avoid single-vote swings
  3. Balances community consensus with AI confidence scores
  4. Surfaces reliable answers when patterns stay consistent

Pro Tip

Answers with more total votes are generally more reliable. Check the vote statistics in the Answer Vault page to see community confidence levels.

  • Total Questions: Number of questions in the vault
  • Your Contributions: How many votes you've submitted
  • Vote Breakdown: Correct vs wrong vote counts per option
  • Community Confidence: Visual progress bars showing vote distribution

Privacy & Data Considerations

Toggle Vote Buttons

If you prefer a cleaner quiz interface, you can hide the inline vote buttons:

  1. Open Main Settings
  2. Navigate to Behavior tab
  3. Toggle "Show Vote Buttons" off

Note

Hiding vote buttons only affects inline buttons on quiz pages. You can still access voting functionality through the Answer Vault page.

Best Practices

Vote Honestly

Only vote if you're confident about an answer. Quality over quantity helps maintain vault accuracy.

Review Before Voting

Check existing vote counts to see community consensus before adding your vote.

Use Both Sources

Combine AI predictions with community votes for maximum accuracy, especially on ambiguous questions.

Report Issues

If you notice incorrect community answers, vote to correct them and help improve the vault.

Performance & Reliability

Starting in v1.5.0, the voting system includes:

  • Automatic Retry Logic: Failed votes retry automatically on errors
  • Optimistic UI Updates: Votes appear instantly while syncing in background
  • Error Recovery: Comprehensive error handling with user-friendly feedback
  • Session Persistence: Vote states maintained across page refreshes
